Heritage Park Zoo
Both children and adults will love visiting the zoo in Prescott, just a short distance from Prescott Resort. With a variety of different animals and attractions, it’s difficult to say no to such a fun afternoon. There are plenty of opportunities to learn about the animals in the exhibits, as well as zoo camps for all to attend. Come out and enjoy all that Heritage Park Zoo has to offer!
If you’re worried about not seeing your favorite zoo animal, you don’t have to. The zoo has just about every animal you can think of – large mammals, small mammals, hoofstock, birds species, reptiles, and invertebrates. Every animal at the zoo was rescued from locations all around with different stories. Say hello to a black bear who came to the zoo as a cub when his mother was mistakenly killed by a hunter, or the mountain lion that was kept by a pet, or the gray fox who was rescued from a pool.
Young children ages six to 12 can attend an educational zoo camp during the summer and fall seasons. The camp is a great way for children to learn more about animals, get experience behind the scenes at the zoo, get up close and personal with the animals, make crafts, play animal-themed games, as well as make friends during their time at this exciting camp. The zoo also has a program called ZooTeen, where kids from ages 13 to 17 can come volunteer at the zoo. Learn more about the volunteer opportunities on the website.
Heritage Park Zoo is open 365 days a year, from 10 a.m. until 4 p.m. so that no matter when you’re in the Prescott area, you can always come to visit. For admission information and a map of the zoo, check out the hours, admission, and sanctuary map page on the website.
